It’s a funny old world.

Looking through the papers you realise just what a funny old world it is don’t you? Pages of news that still seem to be dominated by the sexual adventures of football stars and the lack of friendship and trust between certain ones, one player has declined to represent his country because it might mean he has to play in the same team as the guy who had an affair with his ex girl friend, now that’s not really the same is it as if they were still going out together or am I missing some thing surely the only person with any reason for a grievance is the wife of the man who used to be captain of his country. Well last night one guy wasn’t there and the other one got booed so perhaps it is all over now, lets hope so  any way. The same day stories appear about one of the convicted killers of Jamie Bulger being returned to prison for infringing his conditions of release, one is left to wonder if he and his partner in crime should ever have been released, I realise that they were only 10 when they committed the horrendous act but it is alleged that they set out with the intent to harm and inflict pain on a young child and if that is the case then they are very lucky to be out of confinement and walking the streets with new identities. You must feel so much for the parents of that young boy they are serving their own life sentence and no one will ever release them from that what ever is done, but each time some thing like this happens it only reminds them of the suffering that they and their little boy went through. I am certain that they would be so much happier if these two criminals had received a life sentence that meant a life time in prison. They would’t get a comfortable memory foam mattress in there would they. Reading more there are articles and tributes to Michael Foot former leader of the Labour party isn’t it funny how some one goes from being a ‘failure’ in certain peoples eyes. Because he was the leader at the time of the worst election result in years for the Labour party he was decried and replaced by Neil Kinnock who didn’t do any better but is now Lord Kinnock. At least Michael Foot had the sense and decency to stay away from the Lord’s. I hope he managed to spend some of his later years relaxing in a nice electric recliner chair he certainly deserved it but I am sure he  just continued working and studying right up to the end. But there you are in one days news so much of it trivial about so called ‘stars’ personal lives whilst important stories get smaller headlines and less coverage but as I said its a funny old world isn’t it!
